Alphamin Resources Lifts Tin Output by 26% in Q3, Raises Full-Year Production Guidance

Alphamin Resources Increases Q3 Tin Production by 26%, Boosts 2024 Output Forecast Despite Security Risks in DRC

JSE-listed Alphamin Resources has reported a strong rebound in tin production for the third quarter of 2025, delivering 5,190 tonnes of contained tin, a 26% increase from the previous quarter’s 4,106 tonnes, according to its latest operational update.

The company attributed the improvement to a full quarter of uninterrupted operations following a temporary suspension in early 2025 due to security concerns in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Mining activities resumed gradually from mid-April, leading to a solid recovery in output.

Alphamin said its processing facilities performed consistently, with plant recoveries averaging 76%, nearly matching the previous quarter’s 77%.

Based on current performance, the company expects to produce approximately 5,000 tonnes of contained tin in the fourth quarter. With 13,566 tonnes already produced in the first nine months of the year, full-year production is now forecast to exceed the initial target of 17,500 tonnes.

As a result, Alphamin has revised its annual guidance upward to between 18,000 and 18,500 tonnes.

Meanwhile, contained tin sales rose 12% quarter-on-quarter, reaching 5,143 tonnes for the third quarter.

However, the company noted an increase in security incidents along the border between Massisi and Walikale territories in North Kivu. Although Alphamin’s operations are located approximately 200 km away from the affected areas, it warned that the regional risk profile remains elevated.

“We continue to operate within guidance parameters,” the company stated, adding that any significant escalation closer to its mine site could impact operations.

Despite the challenging environment, Alphamin’s results underscore its position as one of the world’s highest-grade tin producers, maintaining stability in a volatile region while contributing to global tin supply.
